Renan Borelli is a journalist who develops digital editorial and audience growth strategies for publishers. He is currently Deputy Audience Director for Audio at the New York Times, where he leads a team of editors pursuing growth and engagement for podcasts like The Daily, Serial, Hard Fork, The Run-Up, and Modern Love.

Previously, he was a Senior Editor for Digital Storytelling at the Times, where he was responsible for informing editorial strategy, establishing best practices for audience development, and driving digital innovation across the newsroom.

Prior to joining the Times, Renan was Senior Director of Audience Development for MTV News, overseeing MTV's multiplatform digital strategy and growth efforts.

Before joining the world of journalism, Renan advised some of the world's best media companies and brands on social strategy, qualitative and quantitative research, and audience engagement. 

Renan is also a writer and a podcaster, with a focus on movies, TV, and music.
